I had a resident that helped deliver the baby and he stitched me up while my actual OB was standing there telling him how to do it! I delivered at Mass General and I didn't mind at all! </p> <p>There were residents and students present the whole time, by the time I actually pushed him out I think there were like 8 people in the room - head OB, chief resident, gynecologist resident, nurse or two, nursing student, etc.... I had a male nursing student in the room while I was pushing and when they did my forceps delivery. I actually didn't really even notice he was there. I was admitted around 4am and between 6-9 especially residents were coming in and out. I'm still thankful for her, as she massaged my lower back for a good 2 hours so I could lean on my husband for support during contractions. She also held up one of my legs when I pushed. He did a great job and it was kind of fun to give him a hard time.</p> <p>I am a nurse and wouldn't mind if they ask to have a nursing student in on the delivery.
