I'm 24 weeks pregnant. I was a x-small/small pre-pregnancy and bought the same size in maternity clothes. I've only purchased a couple pair of pants and have still been able to fit into a lot of my looser/stretchier pre-pregnancy tops/dresses. I tend to wear a lot of shift dresses or tunics with leggings and I'm hoping that'll last the duration of the pregnancy.

I tried to limit the amount of maternity clothes I bought. I had a few shirts that were due for replacement at the end of the season so I just stretched the cr@p out of them ( tshirt /jersey material).
I was small to start of with so just looked for normal clothes a few sizes bigger that were the right style - empire waist, loose around the belly, elastic/stretch waist skirts.

I was the same size in actual maternity wear and the few pieces I bought were trousers - jeans and work pants. I also spent a lot of time in tunics and leggings, possibly the most perfect outfit for a pregnant lady!

Before pregnancy I was a small, and I'm wearing mediums in maternity tops, although I'd fit better in a small. I went with a size bigger because I figure I'll get more wear out of it in the long run. I'm wearing smalls in maternity pants, but I may wind up outgrowing those by the end. Oh, I'm 29 weeks and I started consistently wearing maternity clothes around week 18.

I've gone up in my pants size because when I gain weight, it all goes to my butt and thighs. Dresses and tops are usually the same as before (medium), but I have bought a few larges to make sure I have something to wear at the very end when I know I'll be uncomfortable in most everything.

I wore Medium in tops pre-pg, and I've bought mostly size Large in more fitted maternity tops. I'm a big fan of the tops with rouching on the belly to let you expand there, but are more fitted elsewhere. However, in the more blousy tops for later in pregnancy, I have some hand me down Larges that I would absolutely swim in now...all over, not just in the belly. Pants seem to be about the same as pre-pg. I wore a 10 before, and can still wear a 10/Medium now, but will probably have to go up to a 12 and maybe Large, as I carry any extra lbs in my thighs ;)

Most of my pre-pregnancy tops would have been slightly inappropriate after like week 12 because my boobs got so huge so fast, lol. I started as a full-B cup, by week 15 I was was an F cup (luckily they've really stopped growing since then). I was a small top pre-pregnancy (sometimes I would get mediums for added length) and if it weren't for my crazy boobs I'd fit well in small maternity clothes (@30 weeks).

For pants I've been all over the place! I have a size small jeans that are too big and a size large jeans that are a little tight right after I wash them! So I can't say with those, lol.

Pre-pregnancy, I was a solid size small. In maternity wear, I was still a size small but became a size LARGE in regular clothes.

I only bought a maternity dress and a shirt I wore for work. I was done work at about 23 weeks so I have no idea if it fit after but they were both in my regular size. Everything else was clothes from before.

Yep! I was an x-small/small before pregnancy. Bought maternity shirts in a Medium. :) It was fun swimming in my clothes for a while.

@Mrsbells: I've been wearing regular shirts. I've put off buying maternity shirts because my regular shirts have been fitting fine! I did try on some maternity shirts at a couple of stores and my normal size feels like it might be too tight in another couple of weeks.

I'm going on 27 weeks and starting to feel that way, stinks because I just got new maternity clothes as Christmas gifts and a couple of them are starting to feel uncomfortable already!

do you mean your maternity shirts are too small, or regular shirts?

I didnt buy maternity clothes until I was about mid 2nd trimester so they all still fine.

So, now that I'm at 21 weeks, I'm noticing that I'm growing out of the shirts I thought would last me for a while...(uh oh). I think I need to start buying large shirts (instead of medium) but I don't want to look like I'm wearing a tent!

Did you go a size up when you were pregnant?
