My mom got she and I season tickets to the ballet starting when I was around 4 (going to the ballet with her are some of my earliest clear memories!). We attended every show each season, together, until we moved when I was 14.</p> <p>I was lucky to grow up in Seattle, where museums/ballet/symphony/etc. are easily accessible. </p> <p>We’ve taken LO to the symphony twice already and she loves it. She’s really into music and can actually sit still through an entire program, which I don’t think many toddlers will do. Not only did we go to a lot of theater, but my mom was actually a costumer for several local community theaters, so I grew up watching plays and musicals. I loved it! I don't, specifically, remember at what age I started going to real shows (not just rehearsals) but I know I was sitting through full length plays and musicals by the age of 4 or 5. I also ate out at restaurants regularly by that age (my mom was a single mom, so I just went with her for most things). She also got me traveling young - my first international trip was in fifth grade. We went to musicals, classical concerts, theatre, all kinds of museums, etc.</p> <p>I loved all of it and still go as much as I can today. We went to lots of musicals as a family. We also visited museums/science centers whenever we traveled. In high school, I was in a performing arts program and we went to see many ballets/modern dance performances, operas and symphonies. I liked most of it... I wasn't too into the opera though.</p> <p>I plan to take LO to see the symphony soon.
