It is awesome for traveling all year round. It make summer sweeter. I like it best for ongoing learning though. My mom was a teacher and also had summers off and my dad was a pilot for American, so we typically decamped to a different place every summer. I think those summers really shaped my outlook on life and I wouldn't trade them for anything.</p> <p>But I understand the average kid with a long summer vacation doesn't get the same experience and end up just hanging around the house driving their parents crazy. I liked it. The one downside was that all my friends from elementary school were on a different track! I was a good student and enjoyed school, but I was still very into summer break. There were four tracks -- red, yellow, blue, and green -- and the vacations rotated. Siblings were on the same track. I liked it because summer vacations were too long and you kinda missed school! The year round schedule allowed us to have vacations throughout the year instead of one long summer.</p> <p>Did you go to a year round school? Did you like it? </p>
