Unless you have an absolute passion for wanting to be a lawyer I would never recommend going to law school. It's a ton of debt and the job market sucks. The first year was really really tough for me, because it was just so different than college. But I don't regret it, and I love my job now. My husband doesn't regret it, but he definitely loves it less than I do!</p> <p>That said, we graduated in 2005 and it is a totally different story to go now, unless you get into a top 10 school with lots of scholarship. So, yep, two attorneys. We're in totally different careers though.</p> <p>I wouldn't say I regret going but, if I could do it all over again, I'm not sure I'd take the same path. I've had some really miserable jobs. Right now I'm at a job I love but still struggle with certain parts of the job and, as a result, work longer than necessary hours. Some of my jobs as a lawyer I've hated and some I've loved. We both had full scholarships, but we still have a lot of debt from our living expenses for three years, especially since we weren't dating or married during school and therefore have two sets of living expenses rolled into our loans. I don't regret it because I did well, and it has opened a lot of doors for me. (Which I don't. At all.) Saw too many miserable students who did it because they thought it would be a ticket to a good job (not in this day and age) or thought they'd be good at it, even if they might not enjoy it.
