I think it was very good exposure to the rest of the world for us. My husband went to preschool for a little while, but hated it so my MIL took him out when his sister was born. </p> <p>We are definitely planning on sending him to a preschool of some sort, just not sure what yet. I've taught both preschool and kindergarten. In preschool, kids have about 2 hours a day (during a 6-hour day) to "play." The thought is that young children learn through play, so they have centers (dramatic play, science, manipulatives, etc.) in which they play (usually with friends, sometimes alone). Kindergarten is so much more intense now than when we were in school. It was a Catholic school and had to wear a uniform.
