I had this holier than thou attitude that anyone making an entire web page about themselves had some seriously narcissistic tendencies &amp; needed to spend more time being interesting than trying to prove that they were to a computer..... Apparently I just didn't see the future of social media. I didn't get a Facebook until I was 23 &amp; a friend was in china during an earthquake and her dad said it was the easiest way for her to communicate with everyone back home... Then I got sucked in! I had to get special permission from the math department chair (in college) to get an email account.
