I got married, we got our second dog, moved out of our apartment and into a rental home with lots of room for our dogs to run around, and I finished my first year of teaching in a grade I love. It was a huge improvement from a tragic and stressful 2010 and 2011! Both DH and I started new jobs. However, I ended up leaving my job of 6 years that I loved due to some very unfortunate internal politics that really put me in a bad place. And the worst of it was I felt I had to put off TTC for 5 months until I had secured a new job. But ultimately, we both got raises and are happy with our career changes. </p> <p>We also succeeded in taking two amazing vacations to Thailand and Mexico and finally became debt free after paying off all our student loans. </p> <p>I'm still dealing with the disappointment of having to postpone TTC and still not being pregnant in 2012 as I had expected. I had to induce, go through labor, and deal with losing our daughter. </p> <p>Found out in May I was going to move to the classroom, like I wanted to, so that was an up.</p> <p>We got a new home at our 'other' place (DH works out of town and we have a 2nd place so he doesn't have to stay in an apartment, etc) and we love it. </p> <p>We were hoping to end the year pregnant again, but so far that hasn't happened. </p> <p>SO, a year of horrible, sucky things and a year of some awesome things. I got married to my best friend, we traveled a lot, I turned 30 (and it wasn't so bad!), had the most amazing honeymoon in Australia, was able to cross many things off of my bucket list, and a couple days ago, I got a new (to me) car. I have been pregnant for mmost of 2012. Almost lost my job, started with a new company who "won the contract" so good I got to stay in my job but started over with benenfits and lost all Maternity bennies.<br /> Found out while I was pg that dh has to leave for 1.5 yrs about 3 weeks after I am due. So 2013 is not looking fun. Yes I will have LO in 2013 (or in a matter of weeks now) but can honestly say this pregnany is not what I expected. I sustained a knee injury that laid me up for months and forced me to cancel an awesome trip; my dear friend's brother killed himself; my husband lost his job; a very close friend killed herself; my husband's grandma died and we had to miss the funeral; I didn't get my dream job which meant we had to change our TTC plans; my grandfather was diagnosed with terminal cancer; I was unemployed and couldn't find a job to save my life from June-December; we had to get a lot of financial help from our families. </p> <p>I did graduate with my Masters, so I'm proud of that, but overall I am very glad that this year is almost over. We had a miscarriage on 12/31/11. My husband's grandfather passed away suddenly in the beginning of the year as well. I got a job as a professor at a great college. I suffered through a serious bought of postpartum depression, but I got some great help and am now doing much better. DH was promoted to manager and to his own store, which was great. I lost my Grandma relatively suddenly, then my cousin (somewhat expected, given that he was fighting brain cancer for a few years) and then my uncle, very suddenly and unexpectedly a few days before my wedding. The holidays themselves were ridiculously stressful and work, over the last year, has been really hard to predict.</p> <p>But then I remembered that we got married this year, our awesome honeymoon happened, and I realize it was probably a better year than I recall. I do hope 2013 is better, though (and I think it will be because we're supposed to buy a house and start TTC :)). </p>
