Oh, but when she did walk, she went from one step to across the room in the space of an hour. I think she didn't like to try things until she knew she could do it.

@NYCaliMama: yah it's easier at home when they're crawling, but not as much fun at the playground for crawlers. olive has been getting filthy because i've been letting her crawl on the bridge and palyground structures lately! she's not cruising yet!

my first walked at 13.5 months.

my second started at 12.5 months. I actually wanted her to walk sooner because I was so tired of her always all over the floor and putting things in her mouth. Outdoor playgrounds aren't as fun with crawlers vs walkers too.

LO walked at 13.5 months ... first steps around 12. I'd also say he's fairly cautious.

LO isn't walking yet so I can't comment on her, but my BFF's IL's said by the time they had their third, every time he stood up they would sit him back down because they didn't want him walking so soon! lol! 3 boys on the move was too much for them!

@Mrs. Superhero: My LO just turned one a couple of weeks ago and still isn't walking. I'm not really worried about it. He's a super fast cruiser but doesn't want to walk. I am SO tired of everyone asking about it! It's like they're worried and it makes me worry sometimes!

My son was a late walker. He didn't walk til 15 months. He's a vey cautious boy. I thought my daughter would be an early walker because she's more active but she just took her first steps last week at almost 14 months. She's more into climbing things.

Charlie was pretty average. He took his first steps just before his first birthday and started walking when he was 13 months.

Olive is still army crawling at 11 months.... actually it's more like a worm crawl now, and she's recently been pulling herself up to stand and isn't cruising yet. I definitely think she'll be a late walker. But I have friends whose kids didn't walk until 18 months, so I'm not really worried. It's actually a lot harder once your lo is walking.

Did you have a late walker? When did they start walking?
