Our house has one, and I hate it. It is a lot to keep up, and I miss having a beautiful green grassy backyard. I barely use it. We're also already looking at swim class recommendations because our LO will begin lessons right at 6 months old and the best private coaches book up far in advance. But we belonged to a pool club and spent pretty much all day every day there during the summer (when we weren't at our beach house). Hubs grew up with an above ground pool. I think he would like to have a pool someday. But we both worry about the safety and money issues. We don't have one now, but we do have access to il's pool whenever we want.<br /> @TurtleDoves: my parents had us in swimming classes from the age of 3 until we reached the lifeguard phase. Now we live in a neighborhood with 4-5 community pools that we have access to. They are private pools only accessible to the neighborhood. I love it! We get to enjoy the pools, but don't have to worry about any of the maintenance.
