No scale. Never concerned about weight. I'm probably about 107lbs right now. =)

We had one growing up. I don't have one now. I judge my weight based on how my clothes fit :) I just weigh myself when I'm at my parents house if I'm curious. I find no reason to get a scale for LO, they can be weighed at the dr.

Yes, we owned a scale. I forget where it was kept, but it wasn't a big deal in our house to weigh one's self.

One of my elementary school science fair projects was about mass vs weight, so I didn't get bent out of shape about the number on a scale.

Yes my mom did. & I definitely struggled with body image/weight in my teen years but I don't blame the scale for that lol we don't have one now but that's mostly because we are too cheap/lazy to buy one. MIL lives across the street so if we happen to want to weigh our selves we go over there. (Like once a month maybe? lol)

We only had one bathroom on the main floor (one in basement noone used) and there was a scale in it.

Yes. My mom was always concerned about her weight. I actually no longer weigh myself and i've never been happier.

We had one and it was definitely an issue for me. I've never owned one as an adult and I don't plan on buying one. I still hop on the one at my moms when we go to visit but otherwise happy not knowing :)

We had one and I remember stepping onto it now and again during childhood, but I was never really bothered or interested in my weight. I had no point of reference for what my ideal weight should have been in those days, so it was just a game really. We have one in the house now but I only ever use it to weigh suitcases before going away!

We totally had a scale in the family bathroom. My parents would use it occasionally... but it was no big thang. We could have survived without it for sure, but it did 0 harm.

Yes and it was a bad idea! I was always underweight and my mom would weigh me and make me feel like I was going to die soon because I never weighed enough.

We didn't and I think it was a good thing - no number to obsess over or even just habitually check on. I do have one now but it's not super accurate and I rarely use it. I don't have any daughters but don't think I'll ever keep one in the bathroom that our sons use, I want to reinforce that the way you feel about your body is way more important than a number on the scale.

i did. i obsessed about my weight, but i would have done that with or without a scale. somewhere along the way i stopped owning a scale and don't weigh myself. i don't have a daughter, but if i did, she wouldn't have one because i don't have one! if she asked for one, though, i would probably get her one and keep an eye out/communication lines open about any body image issues.

I also did not have a scale growing up. Never really aware of my weight until I was an adult. I will do the same for my little girl. I think that this is one area where leading by example is important. I will also keep her from seeing me read trashy magazines. I don't want her to see me giving value to those images.

When we were little, my mom never let my sister and I have a scale. She had one in her bathroom, but we never used it. She didn't want us obsessed with weight as teenagers when there are so many pressures. Since then, i've never really been a scale person. I'm very blessed to not struggle with my weight and seem to maintain a general range so i never feel the need to weigh myself. Now that I'm pregnant, i feel like i should more, but my scale is a cheapy and doesn't seem accurate at all, so I just leave it to the doctor at the monthly visits.

Did you have a scale growing up? If you have daughters, how do you feel about buying them a scale?
