Nope - I escaped this one. I did have an aversion to eggs which started a few days before I got my BFP. It passed once I hit the 2nd trimester.

I cannot even describe how much I couldn't stand/be around/think about chicken in the beginning of this pregnancy! From about weeks 6-12, it almost made my skin crawl and brought the nausea on. After about 12 weeks, I started reintroducing chicken and can eat a bit now. How funny how these aversions/cravings change so quickly!

Yep, total. Made it for dinner for hubby and dad, could never quite bring myself to eat any. No problem with red meats though, in fact I kind of craved bread rolls with butter and boiled ham. Carrying girls doesn't necessarily put you off all meat!

I'm back to eating chicken though! It was chicken mcnuggets cravings first, and then I got back to regular chicken!

Chicken, pork, red meat, anything fried, dairy, pretty much anything cooked...the bulk of my diet was made up of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and oatmeal. And bacon, which made both me and DH sad.

I still don't have much of a taste for fried food. I can eat bacon again (although usually just one slice), and animal protein is a coin flip.

Yes! Well, maybe less of a full on aversion and more like other bees where I just didn't want it. Still don't really. I managed to eat a whole steak and some Chik Fil A recently but other than that, the meat has to be pretty "hidden" like lasagna and I'm 20 weeks!

Yes! I had no idea I wasn't alone. It was literally the only thing I could not think about, smell, go near, or even look at cooked or uncooked in any way, shape, or fashion. I finally started eat smaller portions of it maybe around 29-30 weeks.

Interesting, @sandy and @ladyfingers... I'm a huge, huge meat eater. A salad is not a meal to me... unless its laden with chicken, of course. I prefer red meat, but do love chicken. This hasn't changed at all since becoming pregnant. In fact, I think I've actually wanted meat more. I've had lots of aversions so far (number one being pizza.. blech!) but a hamburger always sounds good.

@sandy: It's funny you say that, my friend wanted to eat red meat all the time when she was pregnant with her son, and she's not really a big meat eater. I don't know how her eating habits changed when she was pregnant with their daughter, but she did say she had an urge to become a lot more feminine -- take the spacers out of her ears, wear more feminine clothing, grow her hair out longer, etc. -- when she was pregnant with her.

I will say that we are not far enough along to know the gender, but normally, I love the hell out of burgers, and the idea of eating a burger just does not appeal to me at all. I'm not even averse to it, I just... don't want it.

Yes. Gross. DH usually makes this really delicious chicken drumstick recipe, and I've had to turn it down after the last time, with the skin and the fat and the UGH GROSS. I feel really bad, I haven't told him yet that I can't stand chicken right now.

And is it weird that I don't really like looking at eggs right out of the shell? They remind me of the first ultrasound where I saw the yolk sac and everything. I still like eggs and eating them, etc. But looking at them raw makes me think of what they are -- unfertilized eggs -- and just makes me want to cry. (Sorry)

@highwire: did you have a baby girl?

My theory is meat aversion = girl. This is based on a very small sample of people i know who had boys and loved meat during their pregnancy and those who couldn't stand it and had girls.
