Yup, best decision of my life... well, except marrying my husband... and deciding to have our daughter, but yeah! I will be having another one too.

Yes and it was the best decision I made for my labor! It enabled me to enjoy my experience. Although I would love to know how dilated I was right before getting it because right after I was at 10! I think I was in transition, but I was only 3.5cm two hours before it was given to me. It kills me that I will never know! I definitely plan to get one with our next!

I did. I was induced (just with cervidil), but labor was immediate and hit me like a freight train. I lasted ten hours before I felt I needed relief to keep going.

Unfortunately, my first epi attempt resulted in a spinal tap, and I experienced debilitating headaches my first week, postpartum. Not the greatest. I'm a little nervous about similar complications in the future, but delivery was such a positive experience.

No, I had a pretty quick labor (at least by my standards - 6 hours total from onset of cramp-like-okay-these-are-real contractions to baby-in-arms) and wanted to do it without any pain meds. Contractions were painful, but tolerable, until they strapped me to the bed (next time I'll punch someone before I go along with that nonsense again). I was still able to cope, but then I did have the "I can't do this, I NEED the meds!" moment. My doula suggested I get checked before they call for an epidural just to see. I was like, "Ok, whatever, fine, but then GET IT....uhhh, should my body be bearing down to push on its own?!" I had evidently been in transition because I was fully dilated and ready to push!

Next baby, I hope not to get an epidural again, as long as things go as well as they did with this one, but I know that doesn't always happen!

Yes. First time, induction, worked pretty well but I had to get a second dose, and of course still felt all of my back labor, felt pushing, and felt my legs well enough that I was able to walk myself to the bathroom immediately after delivery, so it was definitely wearing off. Second time, another induction, epi worked for a little while, and then failed, even after they gave me 3 extra doses of meds. I was stuck in one spot, not being able to move to cope with the excruciating pitocin-augmented pain, as I went from a 6 to a 10 in 40 minutes, clawing my skin off because the narcotics made me so itchy, shaking, and nauseated. I didn't have one either time for more than 3 hours, and each time they wore off quickly. I would not get one again because I'd rather feel everything and be able to move through contractions, than depend on not feeling it, only to feel it *and* be unable to move and cope.

Yes, it was good because I ended up needing a c-section anyway, because my pelvis is not meant to birth babies. But bad, because I got the WORST sense of claustrophobia.

Nope - even though I was induced with syntocin. I asked for one as soon as they started the hormone drip (ouch!) but they were really mean and told me I needed to wait (in reality, they were just too busy). By the time my midwife came back to my room (4 hour of agony later), I was ready to push. Grr.

Yes. I needed it so I could get some sleep. I got it, slept for 3 hours, and then it fell out. When they replaced it, it didn't take. Which was actually fine, cuz then I was able to feel all my contractions and knew when to push.

Yep, had a wonderful experience. It allowed me to relax and I dilated from a 4 to a 10 in just a few hours. It allowed me to labor down and I only pushed for 20 minutes and only needed one stitch.

Yup since DS immediately started having heart decels at the beginning on induction so they discussed potential c-section. It was either epidural now or put me under if we had to proceed with c-section later. Regardless, I wanted an epidural later on during my labor if needed.
