But they won't be able to sit up on their own for quite awhile after that. And infants aren't really mobile, so...</p> <p>Well, 3 years later, I wish I could see what is happening in her room while she's in there for a "nap" or timeout or "playing quietly". Sometimes I'll hear her playing (we do quiet time instead of naps because she's refused them now for 3 months) and all of a sudden it will be quiet, so I'll open the door to see what she's into... and I'll find her reading to herself. Well, he despises the sling because he's not really in the water and he freezes, but he can't sit up yet. I'd highly recommend one with a hump in the middle that slopes on one side for when baby can't sit up on their own - we ended up buying the whale one on our own.</p> <p>I also advise against the kits with all the healthcare stuff (nail clippers, thermometer, etc.) I thought it was so much more convenient than choosing all of that separately, but the quality was crap.</p> <p>And the swing we chose wasn't good - I'd highly recommend the Fisher Price ones, we ended up exchanging ours for that. We ended up just using the baby bath with hammock, or bathing with her, ourselves. </p> <p>Arms Reach Cosleeper: Don't know if we will end up getting much use out of it, as DD is three months, and still bed sharing for the foreseeable future.</p> <p>Burp cloths/Muslin blankets: Wish I had registered for about a trillion more. You can never, ever have enough. </p> <p>Smoothie pacifiers: These were touted to me as THE best pacifier. I registered for and received many. DD ended up hating the nipple, and they never quite fit her face. We are definitely a NUK family, all the way. </p>
