Nope. I was sure I had at least a few more days because first babies are always late, right? Woke up with mild contractions, starting having bloody show, which was my first sign that maybe these contractions were the real deal. Other than that nada, felt totally normal. Dh was scheduled to play golf an hour and a half away.

I started to lose my mucas plug two days before my water broke. I was also have pretty consistent BH contractions for the week or so leading up to birth.

Only that it was drawing VERY near. I had nothing, not even a BH contraction ever but I got bloody show, and then my water broke 20 minutes later. LO was born 10 hours later.

However, I saw my best friend and her mom for lunch the day I went into labour, and she said she was going to tell I was going to go into labour very soon because my lips were swollen. No idea if that's even a thing.... but at 38-2 she was correct, so maybe there's something to it?

With DS my water broke before having any contractions.

With DD, I had a bit of bloody show in the morning and then my water broke a few hours later, again, with no contractions.

Nope. Water broke and then delivered less than 3 hours after my DS.
Nothing until I had contractions, bleeding-delivered within 45 mins with dd.

@MrsB2012: I need to figure out how to sign up for that! ;) I'm at 37 now and would love to go now or around 38-39 because I'm so tired of being pregnant with a toddler but fully expecting to go late again.

Nada until a few hours before contractions started I lost my mucus plug. I was also super tired that afternoon and took a huge nap.

Okay, so it seems like not having signs/symptoms is more the norm than I thought!

@MrsB2012: Wow! That's awesome - so fast, and too funny about joking with your husband. :)

No, I woke up with a bad headache and joked to my husband that I was going to go in labour that day, that I must have had a headache from all the hormones. Then less than 2 hours later my water broke and an hour after that my contractions started and 4 hours later she was in my arms.

With my first, not at all! Not even one BH contraction. Then on the morning of his due date, I lost my mucus plug, then my water broke and then contractions were on top of each other until he was delivered!

With my second, I had painful BH contractions for over 10 weeks, I had tons of low pain and pressure - I for sure thought I would go a week or two early but nope. I was induced on my due date because of high blood pressure.

I'm 35 weeks with my third and it feels like she is trying to escape but she's not fooling me this time, been there, done that haha. I'm sure I'll be pregnant for 5 more weeks.

I didn't either. My water broke about 5 AM when I was in bed, and since I was only 35.5 weeks and didn't have any contractions, I figured I had peed myself.

Nope - just woke up and my water broke as I was getting out of bed. I was crazy busy the day before and was on my feet for 8+ hours, so I don't know if I kind of helped it along or not.

I was just thinking about this today. I never had any dramatic signs that I was about to give birth when I had C. In fact, I felt certain an induction was in my future because I had no signs (hadn't lost my mucous plug, no prodromal labor, etc.) before he came at 40-5. I woke up one morning and had a contraction and then another 10 minutes later and they just kept coming. Up until that point though, I'd had nothing to speak of to report to my midwife team.

I'm curious if it will be that way this time or not. What were your experiences like?
