One of my teeth shifted back behind another one(not too bad) and I asked my dentist about Invisalign and he said that sometimes they shift back and could potentially again if i get braces again. I had them throughout junior high school and got them off just before starting high school. I never wore my retainer and my one lazy tooth fell back a bit. I repurchased retainers from my original orthodontist about 8 months before my wedding. I'm not willing to recommit to braces and invisalign is so much money! But I now wear my retainers every single night... So dorky and my poor DH. But whatever.
