Both pregnancies I had it during the first trimester at least once. It wasn't at all fun, and I'm so sorry you're sick, but both of my babies were perfectly healthy. I worried just as much as you did, though, and moreso with my first pregnancy. I was freaked out about listeriosis, etc., too, but all was well. Just know that your worrying is absolutely normal. I am so sorry. But yes, everything will be totally fine. Viruses are everywhere and I feel like when you're pregnant you're also just so susceptible to everything, food sensitivity included. It was horrible, I had to spend the night in the hospital because I started contracting heavily due to dehydration but once I got an IV of fluids, I stopped and the babies were totally fine. It took forever to recover from it. Miserable. I'm so sorry you are sick. That sounds terrible....I'm sure baby is totally OK though. In addition to that virus, I had RSV with Lukas at 30 weeks with a very high fever and bronchitis/sinus infection with Liam at 39 weeks, also with fever. Both babies, as you know, were fine. I took many many pills right from 5 weeks, and had to be rehydrated many times. She ended up totally fine! Around 15/16 weeks I felt a little funny in the afternoon and then was vomiting all night long through the morning. It was like every 5 minutes at the worst. I couldn't keep liquids down or pee so I went to the ER for fluids and Zofran. Everything turned out fine. I was so worried about the baby but he was perfectly healthy. I never throw up - I can count the times on my hand that I've thrown up and I threw up with this bug. I didn't have a fever and was able to stay hydrated. A few days later though I had a partial placental abruption and I am not sure if it was related to violently throwing up and my body/abdomen not being used to it or not. I ended up being dehydrated and was admitted for low amniotic fluid levels. They put an IV in for 24 hours and my fluid levels went back up. All was well although I lost about 5 pounds. My doctor never asked me to go into the office or to the ER. They just told me to hydrate as much as I could when I could keep something down. </p>
