My sister came the night we got home from the hospital, and made us dinner. My mom came again the next day. She took a week off work and stayed at our place so we could get some rest. She cooked pretty much every night for me for my 40 days (greek style "confinement") and that was a huge help as I was a mess. My brother came out and we thought he would be visiting while the babies would be still in nicu but the babies ended up coming home 5 days before he came out. He was born at 8am and around 6pm, DH went down to the ER and found out he had a kidney stone and had to go home because he was in so much pain. Sooo I was alone the first night after a c-section! We hired a post-partum doula for a few hours here and there. My mother was there for delivery but had to fly back to her home and couldn't stay due to her job.
