I even worked at a summer camp that was chem-free and was the only person who could speak Spanish to these poor kids that came from Spain totally covered in lice. They were so embarrassed, I hugged them over and over--so surprised that I didn't get it then! My husband has it once after he went to a sleepover as a child...he says even as a small child he knew the house he had been invited to stay over at was not very clean/sanitary. And we are just wrapping up (hopefully) our second encounter with it. My oldest seems to have picked it up...we think from a hat she tried on at Kmart. So far we haven't found it on anyone else. We all treated initially but have only been treating her now. Hours have been spent going through each hair strand, laundry constantly, and I've lost 6lbs in a week because it's made me so sick I can't eat...yeah it's a great time... My mom still gave me the hair treatments, just in case....so actaully i might have gotten it but I dont know. my poor sister had it for weeks on end, and it was soooo bad. My mom did evertyhing and they even started going in her eyelashes and eyebrows...that poor girl. They ended up shaving her head and cutting all of her hair off :-( Like buzz cut..and she was 3 and she had really long cute hair. But now she's 16 and she has the hair of a goddess.
