Uhhhh yeah. Not exercising, just getting out and walking. I did it a few times. I could blame it on the heat but really, I was lazy. I enjoyed laying on the couch with my babe over walking her in the stroller. :)

I did, and I stuck to them fairly well. Mainly for my own sanity. The first few weeks, I would take LO on walks around the neighborhood so she'd be sleeping deeply enough for me to take a decent shower. After 4 weeks, I was going to the gym every other day because for that hour, I could zone out and focus on me while the Kids Club watched LO. And when I got the official "okay" from my OB to start working out at 6 weeks, I think I was at the gym almost every day. This summer was also so hot, that it was often the only time I left the house because it was too hot to take LO on walks outside.

I'm a SAHM so no maternity leave.... but I knew it would take awhile to get back to prepregnancy weight for me. Exercise triggers my migraines, and the last thing I needed was a migraine when raising a newborn.

What I didn't realize was that my migraines would go CRAZY after LO came. I had a daily migraine, so I couldn't even do little things like walks around the neighborhood like I thought I would be able to. And I didn't realize how unhealthy I would eat. LO didn't like me to put her down for a second or she would scream, so I would have to eat food that I wouldn't drop on her while holding her and was quick and easy to heat up while holding her. So it was pretty much pizza for the first few months for lunch when I was by myself.

I had huge goals....I am only 4w PP so maybe I still have time to get back to my PreP weight (my goal is by 10 weeks).
It's honestly not that I don't have energy---it's that I don't have time. If I had a sitter, i'd go to the gym....but I don't and even if I did....I have to constantly pump and ...all this other crap:/ Ugh....my goal is looking bleak.

@caffeinated: oh boy! This is definitely one of my biggest worries, peeing my pants. Sneezing is risky business these days and even pre-preg I took my chances with things like trampolines. I've been trying to be super on top of kegels but they are SO boring to do! If you don't mind me asking was the physio for pelvic floor? If so, did you have good results?

I thought i'd be able to run a half-marathon 5 months post-partum. Ummm, i was able to run a 5k but that was after 3 months of physiotherapy!

@lolabee: It really all depends on how easy of a labour you had, and your recovery. I had a tough labour and while i was able to exercise 1 month later, anything too strenuous had me pee my pants. :(

I haven't quite figured out if my goals are lofty or not. Do you ladies think it's unrealistic to work out as often as I did pre-newborn? Meaning 3-4 times per week average. Whether it be a long walk with the babe in the stroller, Dad taking him/her for an hour or when LO is old enough taking to the daycare we have at our gym? I hope I will be able to pull it off!

I didn't have goals for working out, other than to get out of the house. I was off all of April, May and June, and it was a mild spring, so I was able to get out for walks and hikes with DS in the stroller or baby carrier. Other than that, I didn't work out though. (And I stayed 20 pounds above my pre-preg weight for 9 months, so don't be like me!)

@mamabolt: I went back at 7 weeks as well.
I had a million stitches that honestly didn't feel right until 8/9 months pp and I can still feel weird sensation when I do jumping jacks or if I spend too much time on a bike. Ugh.

I was going to do couch to 5K - I think I might have made it too if I hadn't gotten a cyst on my ladyparts that set back my recovery a few weeks! But I miss the days of maternity leave when I was working out 3-4 times a week, I haven't worked out once since I went back to work 7 weeks ago.

HA! Absolutely, I was certain I'd be at the gym all the time... and yet here I sit on my duff watching 90210 getting ready to put Prettybaby down for her morning nap.

I did and sadly I only worked out 3 times. I am convinced my next maternity leave will be different and I will work out 3-4 times a week!
