I'm worried about this too! I had a super, super, almost ridiculously easy pregnancy with her, followed by an easy delivery, and she has been a dream baby. Great sleeper, feeder, and a lovely temperament. Even at 16 months now, the only thing that's difficult is that she's entered a very picky eating stage.

I'm 25 weeks pregnant with #2 and so far, it's been another super easy pregnancy....I have my fingers crossed it continues on this path, followed by another easy baby, but I guess we'll see!

I had an easy pregnancy and labor with ds and he was an easy baby.

Last pregnancy was rough but doesn't count cause she didn't make it. But this pregnancy is much easier so far so I guess we'll see.

@deerylou: me too! She was such an easy baby and is an easy toddler...I'm convinced the next child will make up for it and be a total handful...I'm so scared :)

I'm worried I'm doomed with subsequent children. So far, DD has been an absolute ray of sunshine. Good eater, excellent sleeper, and happy as a clam.

Two very easy pregnancies, even though one was advanced maternal age.

Both of my boys were easy, but each had their issues. My oldest was fairly easy, but he was a crier. Like at the drop of a dime. My youngest is awesome in every way, but he's got a temper...at 13-months!

First of all, congrats on your new addition!! :)

Both my pregnancies and deliveries were easy. Hardly any morning sickness, quick labors, no meds... but my babies are night and day!

DD was a pretty high maintenance baby, but she's going on 3 and has been a great toddler. DS is a super easy baby - has always slept well, ate well, super independent... but who knows what he'll be like as a toddler. I have a feeling he's going to keep me on my toes because he's so active/physical!

DS was very high maintenance as a baby but an easy toddler, but DD has been opposite (easy baby, difficult toddler). Both of my pregnancies were hard.

Each kid has their own set of challenges, but I've had 2, almost 3 now, easy pregnancies, straightforward L&Ds, and have had 2 pretty gosh darn easy babies. I know what the old wives' tales say, but I expect Cricket to be much the same. Mostly because I've asked my mom and my aunt and my grandma and they all say they never really had a fussy or "hard" baby, even with 18 babies between them. I don't know what makes babies easy or hard, but easy babies seem to run in my family or something.

ETA: But my super laid back baby boy has turned into a sweet, but slightly hyperactive preschooler that takes a lot of energy and my slightly less laid back baby girl has been showing growing signs of a serious drama queen since 6 months. So, we don't have any big behavioral issues or anything, but easy babies eventually grow up with different personalities.

My son was a VERY easy baby, fairly easy toddler (as far as toddlers go) and a great preschooler! My DD was a so-so baby (initially sleep was an issue) and so far she's a fairly easy toddler. Her sleep and eating are great but she has a temper. haha. But I think if sleeping and eating are going well, it automatically puts them in the easy category in my book! Both of my kids are great sleepers, which is SO nice. So 'd say overall, we had two pretty easy babies and toddlers!

Pregnancy with LO was okay: infections, spotting at 20 weeks, but a good labor experience. LO, on the other hand, was colicky and had sleep issues until we did CIO extinction at 6 months old. After that, he got a lot easier and into the swing of a routine.

I have no idea what the future holds when I'm pregnant with LO #2 or what kind of baby he/she would be.

DD was a beast of a newborn, she cried alot. The pregnancy was relatively easy, but I don't think that had much to do with a cranky baby.

DS was an easy baby, and a normal tough toddler. His pregnancy was pretty easy too, except for a SCH that happened between weeks 6 and 16.

Currently pregnant with DS #2 and it has been pretty easy, except at 29 weeks I'm so achy that i don't know how I'll make it to 10 weeks.

Don't worry too much about the second baby. Just remember that no matter what, you aren't a FTM and you know a little bit more about newborns than you did while expecting the first :)

LO 1 was an easy baby who is a normal toddler who can test my patience! :-)

LO 2 is a really easy baby...maybe she can be an easy toddler!

We got lucky and both LOs are good sleepers...I hope Baby #3 will be the same!

I had what I would consider an easy pregnancy/labor/recovery and DS was definitely more challanging than most babies I have seen. I am hoping for an easy baby this time around but planning for the same, so I won't be dissapointed. Lol.

Pregnancy 1 was pretty easy, minus some bleeding and spotting. DD was an overall easy baby, but we had a time of misery once she started crawling. She was on a floor bed so she woke multiple times a night and crawled over to our room.
I also nursed her to sleep so that made things a little rough. I'm sure she would have been way easy if we kept her in a pnp or crib!

Pregnancy 2 was easy, but I was in a lot of pain my last trimester. Labor was fast and uncomplicated. DS is a dream baby. He's so chill and eats and sleeps well.

Codswallop! I only have 1, but I had a complicated/difficult pregnancy, complicated/traumatic delivery, and LO was not an easy baby (and needed surgery at 8 months). I don't think you're doomed at all! I hope you have another easy baby!

Do you have more than one easy child?

I know there are "sayings" out there, that if you have a tough pregnancy you will have an easy baby, or a tough pregnancy, easy labour, etc,. Or if your first child was easy, that "tricks" you into having more and the next will be the non-sleeper, poor eater, and by no means "easy".

I had an awful pregnancy with #1, scary 1st tri with mc prior cycle, likely loss of twin around 9w, hcg level drop and massive sch at 12w/weekend in hospital. 2nd and 3rd tri was full of awful family stress including a huge breaking point on whether or not DH and I would continue as a married couple. Won't even add in my work stress. Everything about it was awful, poor kid in the womb heard it all and probably dealt with far too much stress I took on. Aside from early days craziness once she arrived, and finding our way as new parents we were blessed with an awesome kid who has been really easy, really happy with minor exceptions.

I am 11w or so with #2 and of course thinking "we are so in for it" with #2 and beyond because LO #1 was easy. On top of that I have next to no symptoms and realistically wouldn't know I was preggo aside from a few symptomatic moments. I feel like all of this "easy" has me doomed for #2.

DH and I are pretty laid back and fun (but pretty simple, too, lol) when all is normal, all I can hope is that it IS possible to have more than one easy child, because even when it's easy, it's still hard!
