@jholler25: I had the same thing. They didn't tell us the results of the bloodwork until we went in for our anatomy scan because they wait until after both sets of bloodwork are in. Everything will be fine :)

@jholler25: Nope, my perinatologist is in Plantation. I just assumed though they would need both sets of blood to come up with an answer.

@travelingbrit: I know you're near me- you didn't by any chance use a lady perinatoligist in Coral Springs, did you? Just wondering if we went to the same one and if that's their policy:)

Thanks, everyone! You're making me worry less:) I wasn't given the option to opt out once I elected to do the NT scan...I guesss they do it all along with the NT scan. But I really wish I would have opted out. I'd like to just live in peaceful bliss with my NT results:)

I have my first round of bw and NT ultrasound next week. We were given the option, and chose to have it done. Not that it would necessarily change anything about the pregnancy, but we decided that IF something came up, we could take the remainder of the pregnancy to look into resources and educate ourselves.

I also have the second blood work appointment this week! They followed up with me to let me know that everything was normal after the first appointment.

I didn't hear back either after my first round of blood work. I expect they will tell me something after the second round.

My doctor asked me if I wanted a triple/quad screen done. We discussed it and I asked him about how many patients he see get it done, and he said about 25%. I also asked him what type of factors really go into the decision, and he said mainly if it will change the way you would go about your pregnancy (in my case it wouldn't change anything), so I am glad I elected not to get it done.

I had a friend who got it done and came back with a high percentage her baby had Down's. She ended up having a baby with no sign of the disorder whatsoever, but she lived out her pregnancy in total discontent just because of a screening that doesn't even have that high of a rate of accuracy.

They usually give you the results as one comprehensive answer. So if they said your scan results look good, I would assume that includes the b/w results.

I didn't have any bloodwork done at my recent 16 week appointment. The next thing for me will be the anatomy screen.

I don't know what it's called, but I also had b/w done at 12 w and 16 w...they said it was just more information to give a more complete picture. Everything was perfect, and I'm sure it will be with you too! :) I would also say that no news is good news, but ask your doctor if you're unsure...mine did call me with the results that everything looked great.

On the day I had my NT scan at the Perinatologist's office, they also took bloods (12w0d) and told me that I was getting a Triple Screen for chromosomal abnormalities. I basically HATE the idea of all of these "probability" tests that could introduce unnecessary worry or force decisions like having an amnio or not. But I decided that it's the responsible thing to do to get all this checked out so we can be prepared at delivery if there's a problem. And my insurance totally covers it...

Well my NT was great, and I never heard back on the 12w b/w. Is this normal? I have to go for my 2nd round of b/w this Fri @ 16w...Do they compare the 2 sets or something? Obviously, I am getting nervous bc this b/w is the last hurdle.

I haven't had to worry about anything in a while, so I guess I'm focusing on worrying about potential problems with this now...

Did you have the triple screen? If your NT scan was ok, was your b/w pretty much the same outcome? I'm starting to sweat!
