@tequiero21: Thanks! It's definitely one of the things I love about HB. I feel like we're all family, watching each other's kids be born and grow up. Plus I'm so happy to have women to get advice from who've "been there, done that".

@marionberry: I can't swear to it, but I want to say I did it weekly from 36 week? I think I did it like twice scheduled and once because I was getting bh so they wanted to check to see that I wasn't in labor.

Yes. They consider twin pregnancy high risk. Got ultrasounds done there and nt scan and anatomy and I forget what u call it but towards the end, they hooked me up to belts to monitor heart rate and movement or something.

I did, but the boys were mono/di. I would guess for di/di it probably depends on if you have any other risk factors and your OBs comfort level, but that's just a guess.

I have di/di twins and have only had to go to the MFM office for my nuchal scan and anatomy scan. I don't foresee any reason why I'll need to go back again. My OB is pretty laid back though - I still only go in every 2 weeks (at almost 33 weeks pregnant) and I've only had about 2-3 additional ultrasounds thus far.

@sunshineandsushi: di/di pregnancy over here and still went often. Beginning od pregnancy was rough but around 17 weeks on uneventful and still seeing mfm very regularly.

I didn't for most of my twin pregnancy. I was sent there to track growth when I was around 30 weeks, and they (MFM) were surprised I didn't start seeing them sooner. But my OB didn't think it was necessary because I had a very easy pregnancy

@bluestriped bee: I think you're right. All fraternal twins are di/di, but something like 30% of identical twins are also di/di, which is what mine were.

@sunshineandsushi: I did read recently that TTTS is something that affects identical twins only.

No I did not. My twins were di/di and I did not have any complications. My understanding may be wrong, but if your twins are di/di, I don't think it's necessary. MFMs are meant to monitor the babies' health and if there's no risk of TTTS it's not required. Don't quote me on that though!

Not a twin mom, but I know our midwives send you to MFM's. There was a lady complaining about it at the MFM office because she so greatly preferred the midwives. It's one of the reasons I was glad to be carrying just one; I LOVE my midwives.

Nope. Mine went well enough that I didn't even need to go in the extra times that they usually require with twins, she let me go in on a singleton schedule. She was very laid back, though. She was friends with my RE, and got a lot of referrals, so she is pretty experienced with twin pregnancies. I had an incredibly non-eventful pregnancy though!

Yes, it's standard for my OB's office to have growth scans and cervical length checks regularly at MFM. My MFM actually considers IVF pregnancies to be another high risk factor, so I was tracked extra closely. (My sister did her anatomy scan at the MFM, but otherwise was only seen by her OB. She also didn't go to ten million appts like I did, so I get the feeling my drs were extra cautious)

Yes. I see my ob for myself and 2 weeks later an mfm for the babies to track growth and look for any other possible problems. I get 2 ultrasounds a month which is so much more reassuring.

I thought I googled that a twin pregnancy doesn't necessarily require that you see a MFM (Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist) but that's just what google says.
