I had an IUD after my first pregnancy and a tubal ligation after my second. For the tubal it was a constant conversation at every appointment with my OB. She just wanted to make sure that I was certain with my decision. She wrote me a prescription for cytotec to take the night before to soften my cervix, and I have a form to call insurance and get filled out. It just has what percentage they cover insertion and the actual device at, and what is my co-pay. The IUD class has to be taken in my 8th month of pregnancy if I want it inserted at my 6 week PP appointment and the tubal class (and signed documents) needs to be completed 4 weeks prior to giving birth. </p>
