Yes, I was the worst waker-upper! When I was little my dad woke me up every morning by reading me a story, which was great. As I got older I had an alarm clock but my mom would also come in and slowly wake me up. It would start out nice at first but eventually she'd have to get up and get herself ready so she'd yell at me to get up every few minutes.

Even today I'm terrible at waking up in the morning. I have three different alarms set, and my husband's alarm helps too. Ugh. I am not a morning person.

I used to wake up literally 5 minutes before we would leave for school. I'd sleep in my school clothes (which often times was sweats or pj bottoms--yikes!). would just brush my teeth and we were out the door.

Yes! And my mom really spoiled me. She used to bring me cereal in bed and lay out my clothes for me and I would just lay there and slowly get dressed. It explains why now I have such a hard time getting up in the morning!

@artbee: Yeah, I think in high school when I drove to school, I didn't need help from my parents. It was mainly in elementary school and middle school is when I needed the help. We were too close to the school to get bused, so we had to walk or get driven.

I didn't love getting up but I always did. When I was in middle and high school I woke up by alarm clock and not my parents.

I did. My brother and sister all had trouble getting up for school. My dad had to wake us up and practically kick us out of bed.

My niece, on the other hand, gets up on her own. My nephew (her brother) has trouble getting up for school. I wonder what made my neice get up on her own. I would love for my children to be motivated to go to school.
