We didn't speak of it, but he knew where I put it, and once that was done there were to be no more questions asked until he decided on when for asking.</p> <p>About two weeks after that we were visiting my Grandmother and she offered us her mother's e-ring worth dollarwise (OMG!) and sentimentally more than any store bought ring could have offered. What I didn't realize was that while we went shopping, he had already bought the diamond (I was always very clear that I wanted an emerald cut). So when we were at the store, he was mainly paying attention to what setting I liked. I thought that I wanted a simple solitaire in a Tiffany setting, and that is what I liked the best. He then picked out the actual setting, got a 6 prong due to the diamond size, and picked out the diamond himself.</p> <p>We went really early to look so then when the time came I would have no idea it was coming. So I never had a real proposal. The day after he picked it up, I was brushing my teeth before going out of town to see my girlfriends. He stuck the ring out &amp; said he thought I would want to show it to the girls. Still with toothbrush in mouth, I started laughing &amp; crying!
