This is very helpful. Looks like it is the norm to list the registry info. I looked at Emily Post online, and she even thinks its okay to include it in a "separate enclosure". This contradicts the old Emily Post book I have! One tricky thing is that we are not calling it a "shower" but rather a "welcome baby party." Also, we are paying for most of it, although our guests may not know that. My friend who is sending out the electronic invites wants to include registry info, at least in the cover email, but I always thought this wasn't done and that registry info was spread word of mouth. What did you do? I live in NYC if that matters. We really don't expect people to bring gifts, but I suppose if they do I'd prefer it be something we need. Thanks! </p>
