It was a pain to get in and out of the car, but it's safest, and I wouldn't want to live with myself if my being lazy killed or seriously hurt lo. Now she's in a convertible seat and I just hold her and sit in the side seat and buckle her in. Seatbelt is just as safe as LATCH. And before you borrow the LATCH from the sides to use in the middle seat check your car's manual to see if it allows it. You use the latch from the left and the one from the right to create a "middle" latch. Get what I mean? Ours doesn't have it, since the car is more than 10 years old. I tried it out with the seat in the middle, and it fit, but I just realized that is with me driving. DH moves the seat way further back, so I don't know if it will fit. (LO won't be here until July). </p>
