I kept them from the time I was 11 to about 19. And she would READ it! It was my daily assignment and i hated it, it was such a chore. And plus I wrote boring things like "today I had a good day... Blah blah". And then my mom caught me writing in my actual private diary, and she got MAD at me for not writing everything in my journal! I moved from Korea to the US in 4th grade, which is when I started writing it, and I literally have kept it to this day, I wrote in it very religiously in the beginnign, then about a frequency of once a year since high school. But it's funny because it goes from Korean writing to English. I think once I got to college I really wrote a lot. It was pretty painful to re-read some of those passages - I was so dramatic!!! About 10 years ago we had a flood in our basement and I had to throw away all of my diaries which was really hard. A while back, I came across my old journals from middle and high school. My husband read them, lol, and he said it gave him a whole new perspective on me. After a few weeks I would always get bored and quit. Not the same thing, but last time I was at my parents' house I found my high school yearbooks and I was dying over the messages in them. When I went back and read some of the entries when I was in college, it really cracked me up. I thought I knew it all and how little I knew. :) I wrote a lot when I was going through my major depression phase in high school.</p> <p>But I threw all my journals away because I was always afraid someone would find them and read them.
