We did the 3 day method. Bottomless and stayed home.
We waited til both kids showed readiness (i.e. After pee/poop they would tell us, or before they went, they would say something and then go in their diapers).
DD was almost 2 and was going by herself by day 2.
DS was going pee by day 3, poop took til day 10.

We initially tried 3-Day and quit after the second day very discouraged. After that we spent the next couple months just gradually easing him into it.

We did our own thing, then she lost interest. Then we did a lost OCPT method. We only did commando for three days so much shorter then the book says.

I think you just have to know your kid's personality. If we waited I'd probably end up with a desperate attempt to potty train an older even more set in his ways kid when pre-k was starting, everything we've tried to let come naturally has epically failed, but he usually takes to methods very well. And potty training hasn't been an exception, the oh crap method is working very well for us.

We did a loose version of the three day method. We still went out on outings and he wasn't bottomless all the time at home because it was still cold out. We waited for months after he was showing consistent readiness signs though and I think that was key more than any method!

No real method. We went bottomless at home once she started showing interest and once she was reliable at home we added undies. Which was a disaster at first, but we introduced a sticker chart and dollar store prizes that she used for about a week until she lost interest in it. But she's been daytime potty trained ever since. I think the whole process took about 3 months from her first potty interest to being potty trained.

We did the 3 day method pretty young. It worked really well for about a month, then she regressed. By then it was summer and I was staying at home with her , mega pregnant, so I couldn't deal with it. We've been taking a more natural approach since then. Will probably do a boot camp type weekend again in a month or so after we all adjust to this new baby that's coming any day

We encouraged sitting on the potty and tried to get him on it whenever we thought he was going to pee, and made a huge deal about it when he did, but we didn't/don't have a method. He wasn't okay with being bottomless, so we went right to underwear and told him that it made Thomas (character underwear) very sad if he got wet. It took WAY longer than 3 days, and he still has the occasional accident, but he's in underwear when he's at home during the day. He doesn't wake up to pee so he's still in diapers at night, and they are still working on it at school.

LO began refusing to wear a diaper and would take it off anytime she was alone so we potty trained much sooner than I'd anticipated. If I were a SAHM I probably would've been more go with the flow, but we chose the 3-day method because I wanted to just be able to get it done over a long weekend. Now that it's over with I'm so glad she went through the anti-diaper phase and we potty trained when we did because it was much easier than I expected.

No method..we went bottomless at home for a few months, and then transitioned to underwear when he was reliably going on the potty while naked at home.

We just went for it. His old daycare required pull ups so we would have him wear underwear whenever he was at home. It took awhile for him to get it, probably two months before he was consistently peeing in the potty and another month for no accidents. What really helped us was the week he spent at grandmas house. She was able to keep him in underwear full time and he finally started to get it.

We used the advice on Lucies list. He wasn't showing s ton of signs of readiness until one day he said he wanted to go in the potty like his friend. So. We read that lucies list blog and went for it. He was trained in 3 days.

There have a been a lot of posts about potty training recently so, I'm curious! How did you potty train?

I didn't really like the idea of a structured plan for potty training so we just kind of went for it when she wanted to go in the toilet and not in her diaper. And we just kind of fell into it.
