I still don't get what size flanges I should use, I have the standard ones and then a size smaller and then the smallest size. None of them are really comfortable and I never feel like my pump really empties me. I think I must be some weird I between size. I keep switching between all the flanges hoping one of them will start working for me!

Depending on the week I would use a different size flange.

I had to go up a size (M to L) in the early days but now at 7.5mo I am back down to M. I knew you could go up but I didn't know you could go back down!

I used the same (XL) size since the beginning. Apparently I just have large nips. :)

Yes, I had to buy L and XL flanges about 2 months after I started pumping.

I've noticed over time that my nipples have gotten bigger as LO continues nursing (not a huge deal, they were teeny before and I heard that the connective tissue breaks down as time goes on allowing your nipple to extend farther).

But I'm wondering if I need to go up to a bigger flange size. My nipples aren't touching the edges at all, but a lot more of the areola is getting sucked into the tube part these days. And I wind up breaking the section and re-placing them throughout the pumping and whenever I do that, the milk starts flowing again.
