DS always nursed both sides, except for our first morning session since I was always so full overnight. I pumped as I got ready for work/day.

DS only ate from one side at a time so I'd pump afterwards. The next session, I would start on the side he didn't eat from last time.

I offer both unless she does a "snack" type session and doesn't eat long enough to even remotely empty the breast (like 2-3 minutes). I pump if she has two sessions in a row that aren't great feedings but that's not frequent. In the beginning it took a little while for my supply to match her demand but it's pretty spot on now, she isn't as willing to eat in late morning or early afternoon so I don't have as much then. If she is really reluctant I get milk for the freezer (I am paranoid though and don't freeze it until the next morning because I am always afraid she is going to need the milk I pumped off and she has never seemed hungry enough to want a bottle in addition to nursing.)

In the beginning, I had an oversupply so I only did one side. She was always full after one side. The next time I offered the other. My body eventually got the signal to stop making as much so they were not so lopsided. Just recently, I am offering both sides because she still seems hungry after just 1 side, I think my supply might be decreasing a bit.

I alternate. LO is usually done on just one boob each feeding. I feed her twice on one side before switching to the other to make sure she's getting a good balance of fore and hind milk.

I offered both initially but dropped down to just one boob for every feeding after a few weeks. If he is really hungry, he gets both.

I only offered one side each feed until LO started getting older and seemed like he wasn't getting full off the one side. Then I started offering both.

I had an oversupply and an overactive letdown, so I only offered one breast per feeding. Early on, I did block feedings where I would feed her on one side for 2-3 feedings before switching, but once things calmed down and she grew a bit and could better handle the deluge, I went to alternating one breast, then the other. LO is 14 months and only recently started nursing on both sides at most feedings because my supply has now dipped quite a bit.

Wondering if you nursed from just one side? did you offer both sides, but usually baby only took the second for a short time?

Did you pump the other side? I know some women do that to work on a supply stash.

How did you avoid the other side feeling full if you only nursed one side? Could you feel which boob was more full and that was always the boob you were to start nursing on?
