LO isn't a year old yet, but I don't have any plans yet to wean her at exactly a year. My preference would be to allow her to self wean whenever she's ready... following this post :)

Our summer has been super hectic with moving and lots of traveling and my husband working crazy hours so she seemed to take comfort in nursing. I'm not sure if it would have been different if our schedule hadn't gotten so crazy, but it was helpful. At 15 months we've cut out the night nursing but also ended up going back to it as a crutch when we travel. And then during the day sometimes it's just when she wakes up and after dinner but on days where she gets over tired she ends up nursing more.

I will be going back to work when Sawyer is a year. I work 12 hour shifts, and both day and night shifts (7-7). I don't see how we would keep it up (though I only work ~2 days per week so maybe we could still do bedtime nursing when I am home) ... IDK.

At 12 months we were nursing 3-4 times a day, now at 17 months we are down to 2 and I'm planning on dropping the morning one soon. It hasn't been hard to wean...toddlers are very easily distracted ;) I've mostly been following his cues. He rarely falls asleep nursing any more, even though I let him do so for many many months.

I'm favouriting this post.... I'm not sure how to handle weaning her when she turns one. At 6 months, I can't imagine not nursing her, and I don't know how I'm just going to go back to work and stop day nursing?! We don't have pumping rooms or time for that in Canada, it's not common since we get 1 year maternity leave.

We are just at 13 months but I stopped pumping at work and we night weaned. She just nurses when we get up, when we get home (because I'm so full and she wants the comfort) and then before bed (plus a small bottle).

I went til about 15 months.. And i still let her nurse before nap and sleep time even though I'm dried up.. Although,
She may be getting some colostrum?

Before I dried up I nursed before sleep and maybe 1-3x during the night. Keeled me.

Now she just likes to comfort nurse before she sleeps, but doesn't fall asleep nursing. Naps I nurse and then leave her so she can fall asleep on her own. At night I nurse a little, unlatch, and I rest next to her while she falls asleeP.

Liv is 13.5 months old and she nurses mornings, nights, and before naps (or when shes REALLY cranky and tired.) She doesnt show signs of being ready to stop yet, and Im not really there yet either, so we will go until one of us is. she kind of gradually dropped the other feedings on her own, so it wasnt difficult. She is at the point now, though, where if she wants it, she slaps my chest or whimpers and yanks at my shirt lol

If you did...was it for most feedings or just in the mornings and evenings? Was it hard to wean your LO from these feedings?
