Yes. If I can prevent my LO being ill why wouldn't I. </p> <p>As I said on the other thread, it's not routine here and it is not covered by the NHS (that's for essential stuff only). You can pay to have it done privately and that has always been my intention - but I have just noticed (while I was checking my facts before posting on the other thread!) that you qualify for it on the NHS if you are closely related with someone with a compromised immune system. As DH is on immuno-suppressants, I guess that means we qualify! I don't see why I'd put my child through getting chicken pox if it could be avoided. And if they somehow got it as an adult, it would much more dangerous. You can't get shingles unless you've had chickenpox, so the vaccine actually protects against two diseases.
