All of the neighborhood kids would be, almost all year round (we lived in TX at the time). My parents were divorced....when with my dad we were outside ALL. THE. TIME. he lived in a huge neighborhood with tons of kids. We lived on a dead-end street with only 5 houses. We were outside all day. Our neighbor painted a kickball court and hopscotch in the middle of the street for us to use. We lived in a really safe neighborhood so my sister and I were allowed to wander all over town by ourselves. My stepmom would lock us out so she could clean and get some peace.
