@travellingbee: I had 3 sweeps--one at 38w ( a mini sweep), one at 39 weeks, and one at 39w5d.

I didn't with DS. I was 2cm and 75% effaced at 35 weeks and remained the same at 37 weeks.

I don't think I had weekly cervical checks with D. I'm with a new doctor now, so I'll be curious to see if they do them.

With dd1 yes. With dd2, I stalled the last 3 weeks and made no progress. She needed a nudge. ;)

@hilsy85: yeah that is crazy. Did they do a sweep at any point? I'm just excited to be progressing rather than stuck at a fingertip dilated for a month.

No. I was the dilated the same when I checked in for my induction as I was at 37 weeks. There might have been a .5 cm difference, but I can't remember now.

My first pregnancy I think I did a little. Delivered at 49w exactly. My second I was "a little" effaced and totally closed every check! Delivered before my EDD.

My practice also doesn't do cervical checks until 40 weeks. So my first one was when I had already been admitted to the hospital.

My practice doesn't do cervical checks unless you request them until 40 weeks. Since I had C one day before her due date, I never had one until I was admitted to the hospital in labor (4 cm).

Same thing this time, so I won't have a check until I go in in labor or at my 40 week appt on Friday. I have a feeling I will be going on Friday. :crying:

If you had cervical checks, did you progress each time or did it stall? With my first, I was a finger tip dilated and 50% effaced for weeks and finally at 40 weeks I was 1cm and still 50% effaced. When I was in active labor and went to the hospital, I was 3cm and 80% effaced.

It's been different with this one so far:
at 35 weeks- soft but not effaced or dilated
36 weeks- 1cm, 50% effaced
37 weeks- 1.5 cm, 70% effaced
So curious what 38 weeks will be!
