I was pretty much fully occupied trying to get them nursing the entire time. DH did all the diaper changes and care for the babies, but there wasn't any lotion anywhere so I'm sure he wasn't lathering them up. She said to anticipate dry skin but to let it heal on its own (and she was right! My daughter's hands, legs, and feet were especially dry the first couple weeks). From the little I read, they say it is good to postpone lotion use due to their sensitive skin (another reason to avoid fragranced baby wipes too).
