I started reading one book a night when my oldest was a few months old but he wasn't interested until he was a toddler. In comparison, my second and third get to read several books a day from the very beginning. LO1 wouldn't sit for books until he was about 14 months. We read to him much more now that he's 4.5, but I gauge LO2's reading like I did LO1 at that age. So we also read LO1 board books before bed, and he's 17 months. LO1 didn't start showing interest in longer books until about 2.5 or 3....so that's when I'm expecting LO2 will show interest in more. He's just now asking for books before bed, but he doesn't like us to read them, he likes to point how things he knows and tell us what they are. I'm worried I am depriving him, but it feels a bit overwhelming. Currently I read him three board books while he gets his milk bottle at bedtime. (He is almost 14 months).
