I had all the ideas about the kind of parent Id be and the products Id use - for example, I was going to use lavender bath creme and do baby massage with matching oil - to signify "wind down time". But the creme made the baby slippy and she hated being naked after her bath (cold) so that didn't work. But other products proved a godsend. Its all trial and error and depends entirely on your baby's likes and dislikes. I didn't mind semi ugly or less than ideal choices because I kmew I got to give them back. And some of them clarified what I wanted or didn't want and could then buy my own, if it was something I would use longer. The only registry item we were gifted that was unnecessary was the baby bathtub, we've used it a whopping one time. I occasional bathe with him, I used to use the infant tub on the counter, I used the kitchen sink a couple times when he could sit but didn't stand or splash (cutest pics and best on my back!). I created an Amazon registry for the completion discount. I only shared the link with our parents. So basically everything we have I only have myself to blame. We got a lot of gifted clothing and blankets. We had some dupes if we didn't delete an item off one registry after someone bought from the other. Various creams, bath products that made her too slippy, tiny nail files I never used, too many clothes to wear, breastfeeding paraphernalia I never got to use, a mini dummy (paci) steriliser I used once, a bottle warmer I stopped using after a couple of weeks...... Family and friends mostly gifted us little blankets - oh, the blankets - and I never used one. So I just intend on buying a SCC. And I used the Moses basket for a few times while I showered. </p>
