We took it as an opportunity to put DS into a toddler bed and use the cot for DD. we didn't get a double pram, but instead got a carrier. DS was toilet trained just as DD was born, so no need for his change table either. They are exactly 2 years apart. We already had a ton of stuff and didn't need much. My shower was a surprise and I got spoiled with tons of adorable, amazing girly clothes. The hostess had sneakily gotten hold of my wish list (via Wagon Sr.) so I got a few of those gifts as well, which was nice. And "sprinkles" are ok if baby #2 is a different sex, but even then I would think most people would just get you clothes. My LOs will be 19/20 months apart and I honestly can't think of one thing we need other than the second seat for our pram. We'll keep LO #2 is the PnP in our room for at least six months (like we did with our first) and by that point, LO #1 should be ready to move into a bed, so we won't need a second cot. We didn't have a public registry for this baby, nor did we have a baby shower, they will be 23 months apart. I've had a couple people ask where we're registered and if we were having a shower, and they seemed shocked when I told them no.
