I gave away a lot of clothes from 0-12 months because for a while there it looked like we would only have one child. Sure enough as soon as I gave everything away (newborn gear included), I got pregnant with DD2 two months later. We were giving most clothes to my SIL with a younger daughter after getting a lot from SIL with older girls. So if I have a girl I won't have to worry about a gypsy girl costume for when she's 8 y.o. Some of my dolls are still wearing my old smock dresses, but if I take those back they'll be naked.</p> <p>ETA: I love the idea of taking your child's favorite pieces and creating a quilt, then you can also have a photo book accompany the quilt with a caption about the item/ memory. It is so much more emotional than I thought it would be. I thought I would just save one outfit from each of them and be done... but there are so many outfits that I vividly remember them wearing and I can't see myself parting with.</p> <p>Out of the 4 big plastic bins of clothes, I have narrowed it down to 1 bin with all the clothes I loved. I'm hoping to give those away to either close friends or family, once I can drop my attachment to them (at least then, I'll have the opportunity to see the clothes again - HA!)</p> <p>Over the top, or do you save clothes, too? </p>
