I had a velamentous cord insertion with my first, so my doctors and I geeked out big time with that one. Its kind of funny because the first photo my husband took after I gave birth was of the placenta. They examined it just a bit after birth. DH took photos (I asked him to). I had it encapsulated, and my midwife even dried part of the cord into a heart.
