They have me scheduled for both at 12 weeks but I may see if I can skip the doctor appointment. This is my second pregnancy and I watch my weight and BP at home.

I didn't do the NT scan, but I met with my midwife around 11 weeks I think, for my regularly scheduled appointment. I don't think it's weird not to see her after the u/s though, I didn't see my midwife for a few weeks after we went for our anatomy scan! I think they will contact you if there are any issues :)

Kind of, but it felt unnecessary.

The first time we had an u/s and appointment at 10 weeks, saw everything was ok, didn't do the nt scan, and went for the next appointment at 14 weeks.

This time I had a 7 week and 13 week appointment. Ultrasounds at both, but this last post-nt scan appointment wasn't really needed except to check my blood pressure (which was high with my last pregnancy).

The ultrasound showed everything was fine at this point (good heart beat, wiggly baby, measuring right for my dates) and we still have to wait for the nt scan results to be sent to the lab anyway, so they couldn't tell me anything more than what the tech told us during the u/s.

All the doc did was ask how I was feeling, I told him like crap, and he said it will pass soon. It was literally 5 minutes, I spent more time waiting.

I did see the midwife the same day as the scan- we did every four weeks starting at 8 weeks. It was just a routine appt- listen to heartbeat, blood pressure, urine sample, any questions. We hadn't been able to really hear te heartbeat at 8 weeks so that part was really nice to hear, in addition to seeing the baby at te u/s.

Yes, I scheduled my OB appointment to be before my NT scan, so I had both! Though it's probably true that you don't NEED to see the OB. Mine was just for the urine sample, weigh-in, and to listen to the heartbeat. And then if you have any questions. So it wasn't really NECESSARY, I'd say. Especially because the only reason I like OB appointments is to make sure baby's still doing well via the heartbeat and you'll get that at the NT scan.

Even though your scan is done by a tech it is reviewed by a doctor. At 12 weeks all your OB would do is check for a heart beat and ask if you had any questions. So there's really no reason for you to meet with her at this point.

I'm not having an NT scan but that's probably why I'm having a regular appt. I bet since the heartbeat will be visible on the US there's not much else to check for...so therefor your dr wouldn't need to see you.

I have my NT scan today at 12 weeks 2 days. I saw my midwife at just over 8 weeks, and now not again until 15 weeks. She said since I have the NT scan at 12 weeks, there is no point in me going to see her.

Is this normal? The NT scan will be done by a tech, not a doctor. I feel like I should have had an appointment instead of going so long without one. Maybe it's normal though?
