People would say, "Oh I know a _____, and I didn't get along with him in elementary school." Some would say, "I like this name better than the other name." If they didn't have a positive comment, I just didn't want to hear it. </p> <p>With our next LO, I want to keep the name a secret. We're not telling family any of the names we like right now, but probably won't. They know the middle names we like for boys and girls (family names... and MIL is REALLY PISSED we like her ex husband's name for a boy's middle... sorry woman it's my grandpa's name too!)</p> <p>Anyway, we have told some of our close friends who won't go to our showers the gender. IE, my husband's work friends, and my closest internet friends (LOL... not kidding.) We have told a few of them names we like, but we also know they're not judgey. They've even given great suggestions! If we tell any family/friends names after we reveal gender, we'll be picky about who we share with. I think that's the smartest part... to KNOW who you're sharing with! So we shared, knowing that no matter what someone else said, we were happy. We shared the name pretty much at the same time we announced the pregnancy (since we knew the gender really early on). Most feedback was great. My dad was not very enthusiastic but he never outright said anything about it. One friend actually asked if we were serious about it-- she thought we were joking. But we weren't. That was about it.</p> <p>We also shared the 2 middle names we were deciding between (whenever someone asked-- we didn't volunteer it), and only received absolutely glowing feedback on those names.
