She wore 18-24m tops and leggings for almost a year, but then nearly skipped over 2T and is now wearing 3T in most things.

I actually prefer 2t (we are just transitioning), because A is skinny so they seem to fit better.

We stick with the 24 month pants, if we can. They're a little shorter.

Wait I thought 24mo was 18-24 and 2T is for the year that they are two so 2-3. Am I wrong on that?

We went straight to 2T tops, but for bottoms did buy 18-24 since both my LOs are really thin.

For tops, we are skipping to 2T - he is skinny but has a belly, so 18-24 month shirts are not long enough for him. Pants usually fit under his belly and he has a small waist, so he's still in 12-18 month pants for the most part.

for girls, dresses that are 24 months come with diaper covers. 2t clothes do not. it really depends on the brand, but generally i've found 2t to be a little bigger.

J is wearing 18-24 months in BabyGap, but he's so skinny, I have the adjustable waist pulled to the smallest it goes. He's a taller boy but 25lbs at 2years old.
For jackets, shirts and all else, I'm buying 2T.

It depends on the brands in terms of sizing, some where identical, others the 2T was a smidge bigger all around.

The 2T are also less babyish, so you won't find a lot of onesies in that size, for example.

I mainly skipped 24 months for my son and went straight to 2T. I found 2T shirts were longer so they didn't ride up and show his belly. I did end up buying a few 24 months pants because the 2T were way too long.

I went straight to 2T. I believe the 24m clothes are a bit wider, but I'm not sure.

@mrsjyw: 2T is a bit leaner and there's no snaps on the neck! I pretty much skipped 24m as well.

what's the difference?

DS is currently in 18 months and almost outgrown his 12-18 months...and needs more clothes in the next size up already! (he's 13 months).

we have a couple 24 month shirts/onesies...but wondering if I should just start buying 2t?

he's around 32-33ish inches and 24ish lbs!
