Nope. Both girls night weaned and STTN early. If they hadn't I would have sleep trained.

@winniebee: yes I did. I started sleep training at about a month old using the Babywise method. Ebf and a excellent sleeper! Sleeping through the night at 8 wks old and still at 2 yrs he's a wonderful sleep and napper..... Oh and still bf-ing a few times a day. My only screw up was starting to nurse to sleep around a year old abs now not sure how it'll go when I wean him.

No official sleep training here! I nurse her to sleep at night 90% of the time or to the point of almost!
When she does wake I nurse her because it is usually once and she roots as if she is hungry and it is after at least a 5-6hr stretch

Same as @Rockies11: except lo2 gets up once between 2-4. When a child wakes up at an unusual time its more likely to be our toddler.

We sleep trained and night weaned our toddler at 10 months and since then he's slept better but he's still a crappy sleeper

@winniebee: if 5 hours of consecutive sleep is sleeping through the night then yes around 9 months she pretty much did it on her own.

At 11 months I still have one wakeup a night. I've heard this improves after weaning.

Yes, but at different times. We sleep trained at 5 months for just going to sleep, but kept the overnight nursing feeds. I finally started a slow process of night weaning her around 9.5 months and she finally started sttn around 11 months. It took a couple of nights of sending my husband in once I had finished the weaning process and she finally got the memo that the breastaurant was closed at night and she started sttn.

No, looking back, I probably could've night weaned him earlier by sending DH in when he cried at night.. I'm fairly certain it was more of a comfort thing than anything, but I didn't mind. The sleep deprivation sucks but really it goes by so fast. Whenever I thought "I'm going to sleep train this week!" something came up, like he was sniffly, or teething, or whatever else :P

Yep. And she did just fine. We did it at the rec of her Ped. I knew she was getting enough and I always nursed right before bed to be sure. If she woke and didn't calm after a minute or two then she really was hungry but for the most part, she slept through the night pretty early on.

Yes. at the time we sleep trained, lo was ebf and we trained for going to bed only. At that time he was almost 4 months old and down to one wake up, which was appropriate, so we didn't do any motn training.
He ended up sttn on his own about a month after we sleep trained, and was still ebf at that point.

No. We ended up cosleeping instead, because she still woke to nurse several times a night right to the end. We weaned at 14 months, when I went out of town for work, and we transitioned her to her crib full-time shortly there after. Miraculously, she now STTN!! It started right after we weaned.

Nope. We went the cosleeping route instead. She moved to a floor bed at a year, but I joined her after first wakeup. She now either sttn or I nurse and join her around 5/6. It's not for everyone but no regrets here.

Yes, we did but it was for falling asleep and making it through sleep cycles. She was waking every 1-2 hrs after the 4 month sleep regression. The sleep training worked so that she was able to stay asleep longer but she still woke when she was hungry. So we never really worried about her getting enough. We sleep trained at 5 months and she STTN on her own at 10 months.

DS was EBF and I did very loose sleep training around 10-11 months. Idk if I'd even call it that, but I just let him cry for up to 10-15 minutes before going to him, and he quickly was able to put himself back to sleep. He started sleeping 7p-7a shortly after that. I still nurse him to sleep (he's 18 months now!), but I've put him down awake since 10ish months.

Same as @Foodnerd81:, although I can't say what our final outcome with be since DD is only 7 months old. We trained for falling asleep as soon as she was self-soothing with finger-sucking (she was 4.5 months old). She does get a bottle of pumped BM before bed, though, instead of nursing.

We only sleep trained for falling asleep. I tried for motn wake ups and gave up. I could go into all the details but basically, it wasn't working or helping and I took the path of least resistance, which was nursing her back to sleep. She started sttn at 9 months on her own.

But, aside from sleep regressions (and we had those!) her bigger problem has usually been with falling asleep, not with waking up too many times.

Did you sleep train your BF baby? If so, when?

I'm differentiating between BF and bottle fed because I think many parents hesitate to sleep train BF babies because of not knowing how much they eat? We did more sleep training methods with our first and he was bottle fed from 4.5 months on....and I've done zero sleep training with #2 and he's EBF. But in reality I know he eats and drinks enough....
