We stopped right before rolling. However, she was breaking out of every swaddle (MB and Woombie) included, and I really didn't want to deal with double swaddles.

H will roll halfway over, but she hates her arms swaddled completely so we were swadding them in but where they were still up next to her face, so we just quit swaddling and are now exclusive A&A sleepsack users in case she flips all the way.

We stopped when she started rolling. We started with one arm out and transitioned to no swaddle. It coincided with the 4 month regression, so it was tough for a few weeks. She's doing better now and only waking once per night to nurse.

@scg00387: The swaddle used to be the only thing that calmed him so at first, I would sort of pin his arms down and cuddle him while feeding his bedtime bottle.

she totally self-weaned herself last weekend when she caught a cold! i was hoping she'd sleep better and swaddled her and she flipped. no swaddle since! she isn't close to rolling back to front though, she has been front to back since 11 weeks.

@winniebee: glad to hear it wasn't a total bust to switch over. I'm thinking that's what we need to do... Bad timing bc my moms coming to visit tomorrow!

My pediatrician recommended to stop swaddling once he rolled. He started rolling just before 4 months and we quit the swaddle cold turkey. He then started sleeping on his side, and then on his stomach. I was so nervous since my son was a total swaddle addict, but he slept better without (after a few nights).

There's a chance he could roll in his sleep with the swaddle on, so I'd quit the swaddle.

I was planning to stop swaddling at three months due to possible rolling, BUT RIght now I have her in a double swaddle and she's sleeping at least 9 hours straight, so I hate to mess with success! I'm scared though because she is also so very strong at 9 weeks. Not sure what I'm going to do!

At 2 months today and super strong. He's rolled back to front but it was with his arms propped by us so not entirely unassisted. When I watch him at night he gets so much momentum I'm worried hell get stuck on his tummy.

We've tried no swaddle for naps without any success. Am I being paranoid or do we need to go cold turkey on swaddling? Did you stop once they'd rolled or when you were worried?
