I found a bcomplex + folic acid pill. I took it daily when TTC. I'm guessing it worked because I got pregnant right away (once I had started to take it... I had been TTC off and on for 2 years).

Any other suggestions on when to take this? A friend of mine had her doctor recommend a b-complex before and during AF to help with migraines. I was having heavy bleeding so I went ahead and took some today. But should I stop taking it when I am trying to ovulate and then start again once in my LP?

I lost 10 pounds by walking/running and cutting out crappy food ... with my next cycle, I noticed it was shorter overall ... the one after that was shorter (30 days), but I had a 15 day LP, which made me soooo happy. I was on a 35-40 day cycle with a 9-10 day lp (before the weight loss), which I feel had something to do with my lack of getting pregnant. I was also taking my prenatal vitamins, which are loaded with good stuff!!

When I started charting I noticed how my luteal phase lengthened little by little post partum. So it might be a question of time if you watch the trend.

@Bao: It will say b50 complex on the bottle. Just means you are taking B6 and B12 and other B vitamins together in one pill. You can also just buy a bottle of b6 but B vitamins should be taken as a complex. You'll get it when you go to the drug store and look at the label!

@Bao: oops I just replied on the POAS board and didn't realize you started this thread!

I successfully lengthened by LP with B6. I had a mc in my second month off of BC and then started noticing my LP was 7/8 days with a day or two of spotting before that. I started a B50 complex at the beginning of my 4th cycle and that month my LP went to 10 days. The next cycle I was PG again and this time it stuck. I continued taking 50 mg of B6 until about week 14 as I was a little nervous to stop it.

I have read you can take 100 mg of B6 but I just wanted to try 50 for a few months. Take it as a complex though because B vitamins work in conjunction with each other. I really am a firm believer it helped me. I feel my first PG didn't work out because my LP was too short. When I got my BFP I was spotting and continued to spot/bleed til 7 weeks when I lost it.

Good luck!

I had a long luteal phase, but I would start spotting several days before my period started, and taking a B complex seemed to help that somewhat-- I still spoted but not for as many days. I didn't want to lengthen my LP since it was already 17 days!

I've found that the past 2/3 cycles my luteal phase has only been 7/8 days long. Obviously that is too short to conceive so I'm looking for tips from you bees. Has anyone successfully lengthened their luteal phase? I've heard b6 or b complex can help but not sure exactly how that works and how/when to take it. I'm nursing so I'm not sure if that plays a part.
