I switched from a name brand one to Target's Up & Up. They're both formulated the same. We didn't have any issues with it. We chose Up & Up for the price.

We did, and DS had no issues. We started with regular Similac, but he did terrible with it, so we went to enfamil gentlease. Then we switched him to target brand gentle and stuck with it.

We tried, and it was a sh*tshow. We started supplementing with Enfamil Newborn when I went back to work, then went to Enfamil AR to help with her reflux (it did!). We then tried to switch to Target brand, and so.much.puke happened. Gave it a few days, but ended up going back to the Enfamil, wasn't worth the savings.

@pinkb: good to know. At one point we tried Similac but it seemed to really affect his tummy. I'm hoping since he's a bit older now, and we've started solids, the switch to Target won't bother him so much.

I am curious about this. We supplemented LO 3 with Enfacare for the first 10 days. She is on BM now but I wonder if we still need to use the same formula if I need to supplement down the line?

I switched a bunch of times for a variety of reasons. We supplemented with Gerber Good Start Gentle, then did Nutramigen for a few weeks to see if he had a dairy issue, then we went back to Gerber Gentle, then to Similac Sensitive, Up&UP Sensitive, and finally Honest Company, (all to step up the lactose slowly over time). When we switched to full FF at 9.5 months, we stuck with Honest until age 1. Now DS is on Enfamil Toddler because he's not digesting milk well yet. He was a colicky reflux baby and had lots of issues, but switching the formula never bothered him.

When we were supplementing with Similac Sensitive, I got the Up & Up on a whim and actually found it mixed up better than the Similac. So we did that for a while until I switched him to full-dairy Honest.

@BeachMama: We have her 6 month check up coming up and i'm going to ask this, and i'll just switch to a generic "regular" instead of the name brand so it's just one switch. I know with my oldest our doctor was all for generic she said they have to meet all the same requirements by the FDA so she has no issues with them.

We switched from the supplementing kind to regular kind when we started using 100% formula. He's been on Gentlease for the past 6 months now and I've been thinking about changing to the Target brand for cost savings, but I'm just nervous about causing some tummy issues.

I didn't. It was important to me to use a formula that was manufactured in the country I was living in and there were generics available anyway (Europe).

With DD no way, she had too many issues I would have paid twice as much to keep her tummy happy. With DS he hasn't been nearly as bad, and we have switched to the up&up genaric to save a bit. But if it caused him any issues I would go back to the name brand.

Yes. With my oldest we were using the general Enfamil formula and I switched to the comparable Up & Up version from Target because it was just so, so much cheaper. She did fine with it.

@yoursilverlining: This was my worry (my oldest had such stomach issues I'm worried to mess with it) but we are on the Supplementation formula and no longer supplementing (using it 100%) and it has so much sugar in it compared to other brands.

We didn't - our pediatrician specifically warned against doing this. He said switching up brands can cause issues, since they are not 100% identical formulas and some may be easier to digest than others.
