I took two tests, and got 20 college credits from one of them. Not worth it. I also had the option of AP math but I liked being lazy with the "easy" stuff. That way I could focus on all my extracurriculars.... I was the stereotypical overachiever oldest child. My AP classes were tough but the college credits were worth it. I was able to minor in psychology, get all of my major classes and still graduate in four years. I ended up graduating a year early through an independent studies program, though. I hate math, and struggle with it, and was only placed in the class because I needed the math credit to graduate and it was only one available in a period that worked. Ironically, it was the first math class I took that I actually got an A in...and first competent math teacher I had. </p> <p>I could have taken AP English and Science classes but I knew how much extra work they were and with my Yearbook commitment I would have been overloaded and something would suffer. Plus I figured the sort of college programs I was hoping to get into it would be more interested in my position/work on the Yearbook staff and high grades in my classes than the fact that I opted for Honors classes over AP classes. </p> <p>The college credits would have been nice though! </p>
